GRADventure: Campus Scavenger Hunt
This Scavenger Hunt is a fun and interactive way to get to get to know campus by navigating through campus to find buildings, services, and hot spots.

The game is open from 12 - 2 pm on Tuesday, August 20.

Instructions:
  1. Download Goosechase App  (in google play or apple app store)
  2. Choose either: play as a guest or create a free account
  3. Search “Gradventure”
  4. Find teammates (2-5 people)
  5. One person: Create a Team and Share access code with teammates

Seeds of Discovery - PhD White Lab Coat Ceremony
The purpose of this event is to publicly recognize the incoming class of students entering our SOM PhD programs and welcome them to the start of their biomedical research career path.  CWRU SOM is one of only a handful of schools in the nation to recognize their PhD students in this manner.

The ceremony will take place on Friday, August 23, 2019 beginning at 4 pm in the Thwing Ballroom.  A reception for the students, their family members, and other attendees will follow the ceremony.

One World Day Festival
Since 1945, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens have celebrated One World Day in the Gardens. This annual event reflects the theme of the Gardens: “Peace through Mutual Understanding.”
The annual One World Day, the official event hosted by the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation for the Gardens, it is the highlight of the busy calendar of summer events in the Gardens and the one occasion that all the Gardens get together to celebrate as one. Events include a Parade of Flags, a naturalization ceremony, cultural performances, entertainment, gardens exhibitors, authentic diverse ethnic food, guided Lolly the Trolley Tour through the gardens, Passport to Peace Children Activity and more.

Fall Convocation
Fall Convocation is the formal celebration that opens each new academic year at Case Western Reserve University. The event includes recognition of our newest Distinguished University Professors and a keynote address from the Elaine G. Hadden Distinguished Visiting Author, Paige Williams, author of the university's 2019 common reading book.

Convocation is followed by a complimentary reception and book signing.

The event is free and open to all. Online registration requested.

Paige Williams is staff writer at The New Yorker. Her first book, The Dinosaur Artist, has been chosen as Case Western Reserve University’s 2019 common reading book. Incoming students will receive a copy this summer and will participate in related programming during their inaugural semester at the university. Each year since 2002, the university’s common reading book has served as a basis for programs and discussions for first-year students.

SHAPE UP SUNDAYS When: Sundays June 9th – September 15th | 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Toby's Plaza
Class Schedule:
  • 10 a.m. - Yoga with Next Level Fitness
  • 11 a.m. - Hustle & Flow with Tremont Athletic Club  (cardio, strength, yoga) 
All experience levels are invited.  Bring your own yoga mat and water bottle.  In the event of rain, classes will be moved to the covered area located outside of Tremont Athletic Club.
